Annual Checkups

Whether your cat or dog is a new addition to the family or a senior member, their longevity and quality of life depends on the quality of care they receive. Animal General offers comprehensive annual checkups that include:

• Thorough physical examination to determine your pet’s state of health
• Checking for external parasites (fleas, ticks, lice, ear mites)
• Checking for internal parasites (tapeworm, roundworm, etc.), should you provide a stool sample for analysis (blood tests may also be done)
• Annual vaccinations and/or a discussion of the types of vaccinations your cat or dog needs and when they should be scheduled
• Discussion about whether your dog or cat should be sterilized (spayed or neutered) and the appropriate timing

As your dog ages, regular checkups become more important than ever. In fact, at this stage of your pet’s life, it is sometimes recommended that he or she receive a thorough examination every six months, as adult dogs can age as much as three years (in human terms) within the period of one calendar year.
